Has the pandemic given you a severe case of cabin fever?  Do you feel like getting out of the house or just away from those domestic responsibilities that have held you hostage for the recent past?  Has some shortcoming with the FCC property caught your eye and you wondered, “Why hasn’t somebody done something about that?”  If you answered yes to any of those questions, or if you just have a heart for serving God through your DIY skills or a little bit of elbow grease, then I invite you to consider joining the FCC Property Ministry Team.  FROM FCC Bylaws:  “It shall be the purpose of this ministry to oversee care for all properties of the church.  This will be accomplished by striving to keep all property and equipment in proper condition, studying needs and making recommendations for improvements, …”

The FCC campus includes roughly 36,000 square feet of floor space across two buildings.  The campus, as we currently know it, was built in several stages, and ranges from 64-35 years old.  As you probably know, the FCC admin wing constitutes the oldest of those stages and is currently under a long-awaited renovation.  The rest of the campus however continues to be “seasoned” and require high maintenance.  With church activities, numerous mission activities and a 160+ enrollment in the Discover Zone childcare program, Florence Christian somehow manages to keep the building doors open using a 100% volunteer property maintenance crew.  That is where YOU come in.

FCC Property Committee volunteers provide differing levels of assistance depending upon their available time, skill sets and life circumstances.  Typical tasks include attending to building “fixes” whether they be cosmetic or functional repairs or just regular maintenance.  Flexibility is the key to sanity in this mission as it will never be “DONE”.  If you are ready, willing and able to provide regular support or even occasional support as a member of the Property Committee, please send an email with your name and best contact phone number to Ken Mead (kenrmead@gmail.com) and/or Ted DeAlba (Teddealba@aol.com) or click the Get Involved button below.  We will happily contact you to discuss how you can best join us in this important service to God, our fellow congregants and the community at large.

 Peace!
