The Rev. Dr. Susan Ward Diamond (aka Pastor Susan) began her ministry at Florence Christian Church on January 1, 2015.  Prior to her arrival in Kentucky, Pastor Susan served two congregations:  First Christian Church in Montgomery, Alabama, where she served from 2003-2014, and First Christian Church in Naples, Florida, where she served as Senior Minister for thirteen years.

Pastor Susan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas in 1987, a Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School, TCU, in 1990 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 2001.  She was ordained as a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in August of 1990 at Memorial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Jacksboro, Texas.

Pastor Susan has invested herself in ministry and mission through the local, regional and general expressions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada.  Throughout her ministry, Pastor Susan has been involved as a community leader and interfaith advocate, always trying to build bridges rather than walls as we seek to address the hurts of our world.

Several years ago, Pastor Susan began writing a meditational “Thought for the Day” as a daily spiritual practice, which she initially shared with her congregants by email.  Today, she has nearly 1300 subscribers to her blog (pastorsusantftd.wordpress.com).  She has also written for local publications and published her first book, The Daily Grind:  GOD with Your Coffee in 2011.  Otter Joe Pete is a children's book written by Pastor Susan about the otter her father adopted when he was a boy.

Susan is married to her husband, Ron Diamond, since 1979.  They are the proud parents of their miniature dachshunds Sweet Pea and Bella, and the  “adopted parents” of Rosa Kwambolsa, a little girl in Migori, Kenya who they help to support and send to school.
