Scout Troop 1 for boys and Scout Troup 1001 for girls

Take the first step on a journey of adventure, family fun, character and leadership development, and so much more. Scouting is about fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and the future.  Dan Beard Council has a long history of providing life-changing programs to the young men and women of the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Become a scout!

BSA Troop 1 has been offering a well-rounded array of experiences to 11–17 year old boys in the Florence community since 1937. The Troop has been sponsored by Florence Christian Church since 1959 and has positively impacted the lives of thousands of Northern Kentucky young people, including 40+ Eagles Scouts.

BSA Troop 1001 for girls has been growing since 2019 and offers the same leadership and skill building programming that has been generating quality citizens for decades.

Scouts in Troop 1 have had many experiences, including emphasizing Citizenship, Service, and Reverence to God, coupled with many outdoor experiences. Some of these outdoor activities have included camping, canoeing, horseback riding, backpacking, caving, shooting sports, and trips to Fort Knox, Wright Patterson AFB, Patriot’s Point Maritime Museum, and the Kentucky Horse Park.
