Director of Development

Florence Christian Church is seeking a Director of Development to help this servant church continue to build a strong sustainable financial foundation for its community services, specifically the Fresh Start Shower Ministry and Feeding the Multitudes Ministry. The Director of Development works at the direction of the Executive Pastor in broadening and deepening the resources of support and stewardship ministries of Florence Christian Church. At their core, this person is a fundraiser with the passion to communicate and motivate people to financially support the vision and mission of Florence Christian, specifically the Fresh Start Shower Ministry and Feeding the Multitudes Ministries.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Researching, preparing, and managing grant requests, individual and corporate donor proposals, solicitation decks, etc. that match our mission priorities
  • Executing fundraising events and programs that enhance our interactions with all donors (individual, corporate, foundation, and major donors).
  • Devising and executing strategies for successful solicitation and closure of gifts via direct mail appeals, online giving campaigns, and monthly giving.
  • Manage a portfolio of external donors and prospects to secure and steward organizational support
  • Developing and coordinating an organization-wide comprehensive donor relations and stewardship system, including multi-channel communications efforts, to attract, motivate, and sustain donors and supporters.
  • Utilize research and best practices to grow year-round emphasizing reaching a broad demographic
  • Develop a robust planned giving program in support of the Legacy Builders and Capital Permanent Funds
  • Ensuring data and database integrity through accurate data entry and ongoing clean-up and upgrade efforts
  • Attend Board and committee meetings as needed to provide updates and guidance on relevant decisions

The work schedule will be approximately 20 hours/week with a hybrid work situation with at least one weekly visit to campus. Other benefits provided include PTO, employer-paid short-term disability, access to retirement options and discounted childcare.

Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour

Teacher for the Discover Zone Preschool & Childcare Program

For over 40 years Discover Zone Preschool and Childcare, a ministry of Florence Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Florence, KY, has served the early education & childcare needs of local families.  Our program serves as many as 200 children aged 6 weeks to 13yrs.

We are seeking individuals to provide value-based educational childcare where children discover their world in a nurturing, safe, Christian environment.   We operate from 6:30am-6pm Monday – Friday and are currently hiring for part-time & full-time positions from entry to mid-level management.  Our entry level positions start at $14/hour for an 18-year-old high-school graduate with no experience.  Higher starting rates are offered for prior work experience, CDA certification & higher education levels.  All training is provided & background checks are required.
