Scripture Lesson

Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
    his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
    and strengthens the powerless.
30 Even youths will faint and be weary,
    and the young will fall exhausted;
31 but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
    they shall walk and not faint.

Today’s Micropractice:

We get tired and weary and we may stumble in those moments, but God can renew our strength. It may take special care on our part, but the work is God’s and God is up to the task. It is hard work, but knowing that living water and abundant life is ours for the taking helps us in this journey. Replenish yourself today with a special treat and remember that God is an endless source for our replenishment.

For Children

Knowing that God is strong enough to help us through everything is assuring. What is the heaviest thing you can pick up? Ask a parent, or other trusted adult, to help you learn how strong you are by helping you be safe with this exercise. See how strong you are by trying to pick up a few things (with that help and guidance from an adult). Think about how hard it was to lift that item, and then think about how God is even stronger.
