Scripture Lesson

Ephesians 4:29-32

29 Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. 31 Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, 32 and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.

Today’s Micropractice:

Using our words for building up makes our character admirable and creates a grace for those who hear. Social media is a platform where great harm can occur, but also a platform where much good can happen. Today, pause and think before using your words. Consider something positive and life-giving to share with those around you, and on social media.

For Children

Make a list of all the good words that you can think of that will help others feel good. See how many of those words you can use today when talking to people. Can you use all of them? How many times can you use them?
